Brief History

When Fernando Pertierra decided to plant vines in his village in the 1982 vintage in order to produce a quality red wine, without realizing it, he was demonstrating that it was totally viable to plant vineyards and produce wine in Fuentidueña, a town that is part of the natural territory of the wine region of Valtiendas.

Fuentidueña, who was head of the Community of Villa and Tierra Segoviana, stands on the shore of the Duratón, a son of the Duero that skews a good part of the vineyards of Valtiendas, a territory where traditional wineries and wine architecture demonstrate in the landscape its wine vocation. It also appears in the vineyards scattered, from Valtiendas to Sacramenia.

Fernando Pertierra makes the wine in the surroundings of the remains of the castle and ages its red wines in the modern aging room, in the new facilities located in the town center and makes its wine, Castillo de Fuentidueña, with the grapes from its three hectares of tempranillo in glass, located in the high zone, in limestone soil.
