Rural tourism reaches this summer an 35% occupation in Segovia

Rural tourism in the province of Segovia reached an 35 by percent occupancy in the months of July and August. In general terms, rural tourism has had a positive summer in all the autonomous communities of Spain, as well as in Castilla y León, which has concluded the summer with an 34 percent occupancy in its rural accommodation, four points below the figure reached in 2018. By provinces, Segovia is in fourth place in terms of the number of stays, only behind Zamora and León, who lead the ranking with an 37 percent occupancy, and Palencia (36 percent), according to the data offered by the portal. Behind are Ávila (35 percent), Soria (33), Salamanca (31) and Burgos and Valladolid, with an 30 percent, each.

Regarding the number of travelers who went through rural accommodation last July, the National Statistics Institute (INE) reflects that Segovia is the fifth province of Castilla y León with more travelers, 9.069, y the 16th of Spain, with a total of 22.206 overnight stays, of which 20.667 corresponds to residents in Spain and the rest abroad. The average stay of these tourists was 2,45 days.

The province currently records, according to INE figures, 423 estimated open rural accommodation, with some 3.998 places.

Every year they are gaining followers, especially among family and youth tourism, other types of accommodation, such as camping, lodges or tourist apartments, which have also been growing in the province of Segovia. Segovia received in July 3.570 travelers who opted for a campsite in the province, of which the majority, 3.484 were Spanish, according to figures collected by the Junta de Castilla y León. In total, overnight stays in campsites reached 7.908, the sixth province of Castilla y León, with an average stay of 2,22 days.
