Prodestur has presented the prizes for the photo contest

To express the arch of the Milky Way that can be seen from the province. That was the objective of José Benito Trigo, author of the winning photograph of the contest organized by Prodestur, tourism entity of the Diputación de Segovia. The snapshot is entitled 'Rainbow night on the hermitage of San Cebrián' and has been captured in panoramic format through several shots.

Benito has received in the House of the Seal, from Miguel Angel de Vicente, president of the Diputación de Segovia, his photograph reproduced in large format and a cash prize of 700 euros.

In the act he assured that it was the first time that he presented himself to this contest and he did it “encouraged by the insistence of friends and family”. He has also apologized for the attribution of the hermitage of San Cebrián initially to another municipality and, with a smile, has made it clear that the image was taken in Zarzuela del Pinar.

At the fifth edition of the contest called by Prodestur, about thirty photographers have attended and the peculiarity has been that they had to focus on the night sky in places in the province of Segovia.

The president of the provincial institution wanted to point out that with this initiative there is also “recognition of the work that many Segovians do to promote tourism in the province” and has valued “the work carried out by Prodestur through its strategic plan to value characteristic elements ”of the Segovian peoples.

"One of the claims that Segovia has is the cleanliness of its sky, which allows the stars to be seen as another tourist resource," de Vicente said before proceeding to the delivery of the second prize, endowed with 200 euros in cash and that has received another Segovian, Juan Carlos de la Fuente.

In this case, the photograph, entitled 'Enamorados', shows the Torreón de Santa María de Lovingos and was taken as a single snapshot with a telephoto lens during one of the night outings he takes with a group of friends when there is a full moon. "The idea was to take the moon out of the Tower but because of the clouds we caught it a little more displaced and it was a cool frame," said the winner with this second prize.

The provincial deputy of the tourism agency of the Diputación, Magdalena Rodríguez, has advanced that both the photographs deserving of the first two awards, and that of the third, whose author is the Gipuzkoan Pablo Pérez de Urretxu, who could not attend yesterday delivery held at the Seal House, will be used in the province's exhibitor at the INTUR 2019 Indoor Tourism Fair and in the calendar of the 2020 institution.

The image of Pérez de Urretxu, deserving of a cash prize of 100 euros, is a picture of the hermitage of San Marcos de Narros de Cuéllar.
