Rural occupation in Segovia reaches 88% on the December bridge

The province of Segovia is one of the favorite destinations to enjoy rural tourism on the December bridge. Thus, it is expected to reach an occupancy of 88 percent in the coming days, the first province of Spain most demanded for the last bridge of the year. Next, Huelva, (87%) and Toledo (86%) are located. And the least demanded are Lugo (43%), Asturias (37%) and A Coruña (34%).

In Castilla y León, according to Europa Press, the occupation will reach 77%, the fifth highest in the country next to Extremadura (77%) and behind only Navarra (84%), La Rioja and Madrid (79%), and Castilla-La Mancha (78%). Nationally, the percentage of rural houses occupied by these dates is 70%, a figure 19 points higher than that reached last year when the data was 51%, according to EscapadaRural.com, leading portal in rural tourism. The percentage has been extracted from more than 10.370 updated calendars of rural houses registered on the web platform for the nights from 6 to December 8.

Last year the December 6 was Thursday and the December 8, Immaculate Conception Day, fell on Saturday and many travelers took the opportunity to take a vacation day and enjoy a macropuente. This year, however, with the fall of the December 6 on Friday and the 8 on Sunday, many Spaniards can only enjoy three days off, although several communities have moved the national holiday of the Immaculate Conception to Monday.

“As it happened in the bridge of All Saints, rural tourism will again register an excellent occupation these December because many tourists reserve this date to escape to a rural environment. In addition, those citizens who have four days off will have more time to enjoy tourism in contact with nature and the rural world, ”explains Ana Alonso, director of Communication and Institutional Relations at EscapadaRural.com.

If the most demanded type of house is taken care of, those preferred by the rural tourist for this bridge are those that have a chimney and accept animals. So much so that the occupation of establishments with chimney and 'petfriendly' grows four percentage points in relation to the average, standing at 74%. The houses near the ski slopes also experience a small improvement by presenting an 71% occupancy.

The average price per person and night for this bridge is 23,6 euros, and the community of Madrid is the most expensive rural destination. For these dates, overnight overnight in one of its rural accommodation has an average price of 28,6 euros.

Catalonia, for its part, occupies the second place with a price per person and night that goes down to 26 euros. Navarra, La Rioja and the Community of Madrid, the most demanding this bridge.

In addition to Castilla y León, Navarra (84%), and Madrid and La Rioja, both with an 79% occupancy, stand out. Then, Castilla-La Mancha (78%) ahead of Castilla y León and Extremadura (77%), followed closely by Andalucía (76%), Aragón and Murcia, both with an 75% occupancy, and Catalonia ( 67%). Highlights the leading role played by this 2019 Castilla-La Mancha, when last year by the same dates the occupation data was in the middle of the table, several places behind where it is placed today. In the ranking queue appear Cantabria (56%), Galicia (42%) and Asturias (38%), returning to the table a recurring debate at this time: rural tourists prefer communities during the coldest months of the year indoor.
