On the occasion of the second anniversary of the death of sculptor and puppetist Francisco Peralta, Turismo Segovia has organized an act of homage to recognize and claim his figure and career. The event will take place at 12.00 noon at the headquarters of the Francisco Peralta Puppet Collection (Puerta de Santiago, number 36).
The City Council invites to join all those who wish to join the tribute, which will be assisted by the Councilor for Tourism, Claudia de Santos and several relatives of the artist.
The Puppet Collection of Francisco Peralta will have its doors open throughout the day, so that the neighbors can approach and, in addition, leave their comments in a few cards in which the puppet master invites to continue with his work.
Francisco Peralta was born in Cádiz in 1930, in a family without artistic roots. After studying in his hometown, he graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the Complutense University of Madrid, in the sculpture section.
Known as the 'great teacher', in 1990 he was awarded the Silver Medal for Merit in Fine Arts, being the first puppetist to whom he is awarded such a high distinction.
In March 2014, the permanent exhibition Puppet Collection of Francisco Peralta was inaugurated in Segovia - a city where he established his residence.
